Brigade: Jeff Weatherall’s new board for 09 is sure to impress with designs built off his old TItan. It has the flat top, improved rail design and like Lidberg’s is designed to sit higher in the water.  Jstar notes that this is an easy carving mellower edge turn.   For those who are hardcore enough, but want to carve like driving a Volvo, welcome to the dark brigade.

Region: Brett “Ike” Eisenhauer’s 09 wakeboard graphics are simple but modern.  But who cares about the graphics, if your riding Ike’s board, you’ll probably be pro within the year.  It is designed for explosive pop  and quick cuts with sharper rails.   If you’d like to drive a Ferrari try this out first.

Ah, the Wakesetter 23 LSV a boat of dreams, a boat you admire, a boat that has earned seven consecutive Boat of the Year Awards.

This boat has more options then a SUV, with up to 1350 pounds of Ballast aka the Malibu Launch System (MLS), a ballast monitoring system, a collapsible Illusion XS wakeboard tower, Rider Presets (for the wedge and speed), Precision Pro Speed Control and even an available Patented Power Wedge. While the brand is staying safe with the black colours to win consumers over, I think we’ll see some quality products out of this brand during the year.

The ultimate wakeboarding necessity just became automated.

Malibu has once again stepped up the mark creating the auto wedge.  One of the biggest problems with wakeboarding today is high petrol prices and using the wedge while wakeboarding doesn’t help fuel consumption especially when your using excess fuel just in pulling up a boarder.

The solution!  Behold the auto wedge.

So what is the auto wedge I hear you say.   We’ll, you set the riders speed, when the boat reaches the desired speed …. down comes the wedge!  Another advantage is the boat gets on the plane much quicker.

Malibu claims the auto wedge, allows the boat to get on a plane 34% faster, has less bow rise, and improves fuel consumption by 30%.

The video has a stupid mechanical noise, i hope the real thing doesn’t sound like this.

Mastercraft is the wakeboard boat market leader.  As a all good leaders do they take charge, offering people more and more, allowing everyday people like you and I to become pro-riders like Rusty, Steel and Byerly  who have personalised boats.

Some of the tip-top designs go to the vinyl wraps: DBOT, Flying Skull, and Camo.  Oh, if you’re a keen slalom skier or barefooter check out the 08 nightmare under the fluro green is the eyes of a skull.

I’d also like to point out Park’s Mastercraft wrap boat in the top right hand corner of the image.  In true Park’s style he can never be out done by Byerly, Rusty, and Steel.

J-Star’s 2009 wakeboard lineup includes four pro model boards and two women’s boards. The four pro model boards are team riders Keith Lidberg, Jeff Weatherall, Jack Blodgett and Brett Eisenhauer.

The fanatics board for 2009 is team rider Keith Lidberg’s, the Lidberg Series.  Keith is well known for smashing sliders, kickers and just plain going big. J-Star notes that this board can handle anything Lidberg can.

The boards on the left are the Lidberg Series.   The center board and the wakeboards on the right are Jeff Weatherall’s Brigade Series.    Lidberg’s base graphics are a truely sick and very in-line with other 2009 wakeboards, the top white sheet allows the personal touches of stickers etc.   This board looks sweet.

If Weatherall’s wakeboard, Brigade series, can handle everything Weatherall throws at it, this board is going to be tip-top.
