My CWB Board Co, Custom Wakeboard

What can be better then riding a CWB wakeboard?  How about riding your very own custom designed model.  We’re not talking about originating your ‘factory made wakeboard’ with stickers, we’re talking about  designing your own graphics, we’re talking about choosing the size and shape, we’re talking about CWB hand making a wakeboard just for YOU!

Well if you’ve been to lazy to realise (and you haven’t read any of our previous posts) CWB Board Co now has custom boards. see www.my-cwb.com

Hmm, a LifestyleEmpire board now that would be sweet…  to the bro’s at CWB who are reading this (and we know you are) how about you design us a custom Wakeboarding.LifestyleEmpire.com wakeboard and we’ll give it away to our fellow wakeboard readers!

Until then… you definately have to check out My-CWB.com and place an order (North America and Canada only).  If you don’t, you’re friends will get their personalised wakeboards before you and then you’ll be a loser.   You better hurry as My-CWB has just reached 1000 orders!

My CWB

Customize your CWB.

My CWBMy CWB

CWB Board Co is allowing you to design your own graphic masterpiece.  You choose the shape, the size, the colors and the text for your own customized wakeboard. Your one of a kind board will then be hand built in CWB’s factory in Lynnwood, Washington.  Which we are stoked about!

It’s all part of CWB’s way of making wakeboarding personalized.   Hopefully more manufacturers will follow suit.

The hardest part is actually designing graphics cool enough.

For more see www.my-cwb.com after easter 2009.

Boards are supposed to be US$499.99 blank.

CWB Hinge Tech

CWB Board Co. have extended the line of the Hinge tech system for 2009 on their wake board bindings.  The Hinge system has been popular since the introduction in 2006 on the Zeus and Torq models, both receiving positive reviews from riders.

In previous years the Hinge system was only available on their top-of-the-line boots, as the hinge system forces the riders into an aggressive stance, sometimes causing pinching on the achillies heal and many claiming to be an uncomfortable boot.  Ultimately, the Hinge system was designed to create a firm hold around the foot, provide easy entry and be responsive – which it does.    For those not aware, the Hinge tech is much the same as a Flow snowboard binding, allowing the rider to insert their foot from the rear of the binding, this is particularly beneficial for people with larger feet (size 10+) who find it a squeeze to get into conventional front entry (shoe) bindings.

The 2009 CWB wakeboarding bindings’ line-up now includes the hinge tech system on 11 of the 13 CWB bindings available, from the beginner level binding all the way to the Zeus.  CWB sees these bindings as the future of wake bindings providing ease of entry for every skill level, beginner bindings are less ridged due to less lace support.

As you can imagine, once you make something mechanical there are always problems, and the Hinge is no different.  Past problems with the Hinge bindings have been due to using a coil system; the Hinge is renown for rusting in saltwater, the coil breaking after a few sessions and the shoe lace knot coming undone.  It should be noted that CWB does send out replacement coils.   The Hinge bindings are also heavier then conventional bindings, which is marginal weight if you’re 6 feet tall all above.

Basically, if you’re strong, tall, and have large feet these boots are a must buy -you’ll love the ease of entry.  For everyone else, the question to ask before buying these bindings is; does the ease and brilliance of these bindings outweigh mechanical error and weight?  Many would argue yes.

CWB Transcend 2009

CWB Transcend 2009 – Andrew Adkison Shape

Transcend was one of the best selling wakeboards in 2007, followed by one of the most popular shapes in 2008 - in 2009 it doesn’t disappoint. The Transcend has been improved for 2009 by CWB shaper Doug Cannon and world champion Andrew Adkison. The CWB Transcend will continue to utilize the fin extension system, however the molded fins have been reshaped. The board has also been made 1 inch wider, and the center spine extended.

For more specs see ridecwb.com

Ultimately, the 2009 CWB Transccend board looks fresh and modern with its black finish and clean ‘architecture’ pattern designs.

This is the sort of board that we’ll last for years, a solid wakeboard with graphics that aren’t going to offend any rider.
