Red Bull Blackout was created over 24 -28 September 2007 at Iowa’s Lake Okoboji.  While this news is considered old, such an event will last forever.

For those who don’t know, take two helicopters with massive spot lights, local amateurs, pro wakeboarders and wakeskaters Collin Harrington, Adam Errington, J.D. Webb, Brian Grubb and Reed Hanson, not to mention having to get clearance from the CAA to the local Department of Natural resources to break rules.  An event that looked like an escaped convict manhunt, is still considered one of the diverse wakeboarding movies to this date.

Sidewayz production crew filmed this premier, also allowing student film teams from Iowa State University and University of Northern Iowa to have create freedom.

The guys at Red Bull have once again stretched the boundaries, going to extremes on a sport that is already truly extreme. What is Wakeberg you ask? Take 3 leaders of wakeboarding– Parks Bonifay, Adam Errington and Josh Sanders, to Newfoundland (east Canada) on a two-day expedition to use icebergs as natural kickers and sliders.

While this idea sounds like another Red-Bull publicity stunt – which we at wakeboarding.lifestyleempire.com encourage – the boys are already considering a return trip next year.
