RONIX v2 Boards – The Dark Core
Ronix wakeboards in 2009 has released a special edition Dark Core wakeboards, otherwise known as v2, for each of the three male Ronix pro wakeboarding owners – Chad Sharpe, Parks Bonifay, and Danny Harf.
The Dark Core series boards are based on these pro riders Ronix Boards. Danny Harf’s One, Parks Bonifay’s IBEX, and Chad Sharpe’s Viva with a new core… yes a Dark Core.
Danny Harf’s One, Chad Sharpe’s Viva, and Park Bonifay’s Ibex
The Dark Core is 20% lighter then other Ronix boards and made by a material that recoils to its original structure, this material is common in large ships. As you can imagine Ronix is keeping this magic Dark Core top secret as secret as KFC original herbs and spices. They have mentioned it’s a hybrid carbon/glass weave.
So what does all this mean? Well supposedly the recoil should have added enegy and be able to maintain it’s rocker line through the transition, through the wake, and onto the landing much more then traditional structure. damn… if you understand any of that let me know and you’ll be named the Physicist… in basics I think it means because of the recoiling, the board has hidden energy and it should be able to hold onto it’s edge, whilst allowing you to stick the landing – oh, and get more air as the board is 20% lighter.

Ronix One/DHV2, IBEX/PBV2, VIVA/CSV2
The real test will be if Parks, Sharpe and Harf actually use this board in comps.
The IBEX/PBV2 and VIVA/CSV2 come in both a 136cm and 140cm board, while ONE/DHV2 comes in sizes 139cm and 144cm
As a true Ronix Product, history would suggest that this board will be better then expected and created with perfection.
