2010 Hyperlite Marek Nova

Following the debut of the Hyperlite Marek wakeboard in 2009, the 2010 Hyperlite Marek Nova has placed technology at the forefront.

The most noticeable feature of the board is the binding attachment system, A.K.A. the Strata Mounting System.   The system is very similar to Burton Snowboards 2009 and 2010 ICS system, which allows the bindings to be attached on any point along the 13″  beam, this allows the rider to create micro adjustments to the bindings stance and placement.   Creating the ultimate customised rider setup.

The Marek series is part of Hyperlite’s D.I.N.E series and is built to be Hyperlites’ fastest and most responsive ride.  The board features carbon torsion zones, tip-to-tail-step down rail and abrupt continuous rocker for speed and pop.

The 8th Annual WakeWorld Riders choice results have been finalised and posted.

First things first, the Bonifay Boys did not make the 10 ten this year, as was Andrew Adkinson.  The top Male rider for 2008 goes to Rusty Malinoski, followed by Philip Soven
and bronze going to Randall Harris.

On the female front, the one and only Dallas Friday held number 1 – nothing can stop this girl, not even injuries.

Wakeboard of the year goes to the Liquid Force Watson.  Ronix One deservedly takes the silver, and Liquid Force Lyman taking bronze.

Boat of the year always seems to have the same contenders, Mastercraft’s X-Star yet again takes the boat of the year, followed by arch rival Malibu with the Malibu Wakesetter VLX,  and as per last year 3rd place was placed by Correct Craft, but this time the Nautique AIR 230 instead of AIR 210.

Marek, the Rusty Malinoski Pro-Model 2009 Board.

Rusty and Hyperlite present a new addition to the Hyperlite D.I.N.E. line, the Marek.

Forget the tech talk the bottom line is this board is ridden by one of the best, so we’d expect the best.  Hyperlite adds ”this series is built to be the fastest, most responsibleride in the Hyperlite lineup.”   Board sizes are 136, 141, 146 with simple yet sophisticated graphics that should appeal to all.  All sizes have similar graphics featuring the following logo on a white deck.  The base again features the logo but with Hyperlite writing on a black background.

Oh… did we mention it is inlayed with carbon torsion zones.

2008 Tigé Pro-Am Wakeboarding Championships June 20-22 staged at Blue Lake Park,using the Tigé 24Ve as the official towboat.
Mens final was won by Rusty Malinoski, this is Rusty’s third Tigé Pro-Am title.

Four of the top pro-am riders, Rusty, Andrew Adkison, Daniel Watkins and Aaron Rathy, along with two wild card riders were each given four chances to land the 1080 for $10,800.   History was in the making, but none of the six riders succeeded in landing the trick.

Nicola Butler won her fifth consecutive contest after winning the Women’s Division.

Bryan Hutton, with a backside 360 onto a funbox to Backside 360 boardslide to 270 out won the Rockstar Energy Drink Best Trick Award, a $1,000 prize.

Tigé also premiered the exciting new 2009 Tigé line of multi-sport boats at the event.  More images to come, be aware they have an ’illusion” tower.
